Yes like st.. Michael cuting the head of the dragon satan lol

That said revolution banned religion from public places to homes and temples only - as under the kings only nobles and clergy could vote - god is never named in public or official speaches or in the hymn like god bless america or god bless the queen..... or after a terror act - noone official would say let's give a prayer or such.... that is the private business of religions only....in private homes or temples if one needs a god there are many religions or cults around...

With the exception of a few adverbs and/or adjectives in the narrative, classy, i agree with much of what you said.

The code for conduct while playing the National Anthem is in Title 36 USC section 301. it reads :
"§301. National anthem

(a) Designation.—The composition consisting of the words and music known as the Star-Spangled Banner is the national anthem.

(b) Conduct During Playing.—During a rendition of the national anthem—

(1) when the flag is displayed—

(A) individuals in uniform should give the military salute at the first note of the anthem and maintain that position until the last note;

(B) members of the Armed Forces and veterans who are present but not in uniform may render the military salute in the manner provided for individuals in uniform; and

(C) all other persons present should face the flag and stand at attention with their right hand over the heart, and men not in uniform, if applicable, should remove their headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart; and

(2) when the flag is not displayed, all present should face toward the music and act in the same manner they would if the flag were displayed."

The good and bad part about this particular law is that there are no penalties for disobeying this law. In other words, it can't be legally enforced.

You have a Law for listening to the national anthem??

I would have thought patriots would want to show it respect, but not everyone is a patriot.

the law is designed for uniformity, Louise, nothing else.

That is why there are no penalties for disobeying the law, for those that want to whine about living here instead of moving somewhere else where they'd be happier. they don't have to follow the law and won't face penalties.

There is another aspect, which was not mentioned so far: these performers are actually PAID huge amonts if money for their job, which does include standing correctly for the National Anthem. It is part of their job, part of the show. It reflects very poorly on the management (the NFL in this case) for not insisting in the players to stick to the original script. It is not the right if an actor to change the script of a play to his liking ! An performer in a theater showing blatant disrespect for the audience would be a reason for patrons to ask for their money back, as they did not see the show, thry had paid for. In such a case the theater company wouls suffer a financial loss, the unruly performer would likely lose the job. Also in any industry the refusal to perform part of an assigned  job would lead to dismissal. Why should the "primadonnas" in so-called sports be treated differently ?
