Hi, welcome, and good luck Cheryl. Search for people using the Search button near the top. Fill in your criteria and after you get results, send a private message ( PM ) to the folks you think might interest you.
We also have the forum that you have found ( and other forums with different topics), which we welcome you to participate in.
Polls ( questions), Videos, different groups, and a few other things.

Why is it confusing, there is a Search form on the site, where you can set an age criteria!!! Is it any different from ANY other dating site??? Do other sites have a crystal ball to GUESS your desired age? LOL
