it is a small site, by comparison to large sites Ankimo. It is a trade off between having 80% or more of fake profiles (mostly on the pay to communicate sites) and scammers ( most all "free" sites, and many paid sites as well) on the site, or having real people and no scammers on the site.
I just put in a search for males in LA ( age 19-85) and came up with as many as 90 hits. several of them were in their 20's, and I doubt you'd be interested in them. You don't seem to have much information about what you are looking for on your profile, either. Its kind of hard for people to guess at what you are interested in, if you don't say it.
