what was the old OS and the new one?? If they are both OS Ten.X, they are all very similar.... just little differences between them. I've had 10.4 through 10.10 now....

The biggest difference I've seen was one or 2 ago when they stopped doing the timers for postponing the iCal events.... and all went to a 15 minute snooze.  I wound up buying a $2 app to fix it so I can choose my own snooze times again

the new 10.10 is a lot more iPad / iPod friendly, too... but the girls here know more about that than I do ....

You're way ahead of me on the computer front than I am. First thing I noticed was spaces. I managed to figure out that some of the changes just required resetting in preferences.
I'm on 10.8.5 now...I think. Not sure what the old one was.

Here are some links that might help you learn about it... and/or just help in general. The osxdaily has a lot of real good info quite often.

The versions 10.8 (Snow Leopard) and 10.9 (Maverick) in my eyes were the best ones during the last years. And they were "operating systems".

I like the actual version 10.10 (Yosemite) as well. The actual iOS 8.x versions from the iPhone and iPad are very well integrated, iPhone/iPad in my eyes work together with iMac/Book and so on very smoothly. But what I don't like at all, is the lookalike of Yosemite: they tried to make an operating system look like your iPhone - just ugly!

The jury has returned early. I bought a MS Surface tablet recently running Windows 10, after using OS X for over 5 years, and what a nightmare that was.  Once you've driven a car with comfy seats you don't want to go back to a go-cart sitting on wood!!  Windows 10 should be thrown away, I've already sold the tablet.

Indeed ! Microsoft lost their way and tries to tie users into their business model causing huge problems for even Windoze users, who had previous versions. I'd never buy any system with Windoze 10 pre-installed, it feels more like a dumb video game than an operating system. On a computer it is, however, possible to "tweak" the interface in a way, so it resembles and feels much like Windoze 7 , but this is seriously time-consuming and tricky. This will not ususlly work on a tablet, which is not PC compatible !

Sadly Apple systems are very pricey and have become less durable lately (maybe because it is based on Intel chips like the majority of PCs), so I prefer to use Linux based machines, which can be configured to closely act like a Mac with comparable security features but a better choice of (ususlly free) software.
