Can you recommend a online translator for my desktop? Many of the members here speak/post in Spanish. I'm lost! BTW, I'm on Windows 7Pro. Thanks.

I use Google : https://translate.google.com/

it is good for "getting the idea across", not a perfect translator.

Only a real qualified person can properly translate context and other variables in different languages. But when you copy/paste the text into the box then hit the "swap" arrow in the middle, it should come up close to if not perfect with a translation.

also misspellings can not be compensated for in a text translator.

The best translator that has google is the one that translates the whole page that usually makes few shocks and is what I use to read here and in all the pages that are not Spanish, including Russian and Ukrainian.

Thanks, I'll try this. I'm basically computer illiterate though.

There is another and rather good translator, which integrates with some chat apps. It is called Babelfish.  I know, it works on Windoze machines, because i have used it that way.  I too cannot speak nor understand Spanish, and Babelfish translates "on the fly", so no copy and paste operations are needed. It also is bi-directional, so it will send your message already translated and translates incoming messages too. At least, it did that a few years ago, when I used it last.

If you are running a Linux OS like  Debian or Ubuntu, there is a good translator utility called GoldenDict that uses the Babelfish, and other formats of data files for the various languages available for download online.   Once the data files have been installed and indexed you don't have to be online (connected) to access the translations.

Los q encontramos en google son buenos pero deben ser traducidos por frases. Porque si o se forma una mazamorra de ideas.

English Translation by Google: https://translate.google.com/#view=home&op=translate&sl=auto&tl=en&text=Los%20q%20encontramos%20en%20google%20son%20buenos%20pero%20deben%20ser%20traducidos%20por%20frases.%20Porque%20si%20o%20se%20forma%20una%20mazamorra%20de%20ideas.

The ones we find in google are good but they must be translated by phrases. Because if a mazamorra of ideas is formed.
