Me and Cristi (monserette) met here through  mutual friends back in 2005 or 2006.   it was an interesting group we had going back then...

well we have had many exciting life events... lol...

now things are really gonna get exciting... I decided 3 years ago that I am sick of working... so we bought a sailboat :) . I plan on resigning my position at the end of the year.  .

then we will begin our journey to far off places.

Wow Q,
That is one heck of a change.   You guys up in AK are known for "living off the land" a lot better than most of us in the lower 48...  but living off of the seas???  wow.

Glad to know you and Cristi are still a couple and together. Good luck taking on a life as a sailor.

If you ever get down to the Los Angeles area, let me know, we can try and get together.

Btw, I also added the embedded code in for the utube video so it will launch in a separate window in your OP.

fur sure gonna be crazy fun...

we will be down California way in a few years.  she is still having a hard time with the idea... Its not much different than the old fogies in motorhomes , this one just doesn't have wheels ...

gonna spend at least 2 years  exploring southeast Alaska , would like to cruise to the Aleutians. but at them higher latitudes the weather can be sketchy at the very least. everyone has seen deadliest catch... lol.

Cristi has been in Chicago for the past year or so helping with her parents.  she hopes to be back here this spring or summer... housing is a big issue here.. she is on disability so she qualifies for HUD assistance.   its a 6 month waiting game for that.. or fork out insane amounts for an apartment if you can find one..

she isn't cut out for full time liveaboard life in Alaska.. lol...

I will most likely avoid the British Columbia, Washington Oregon coast..  It's a long lee shore and I would prefer plenty of sea room for that region.

We will make land in the Bay area, my son lives in Emeryville , next to Berkeley and Oakland .

then we will coastal cruise and live off the hook working our way down the coast to transit the canal.   hopefully the Chinese will have the one in Nicaragua done by then..

panama canal auth wants $2800 to transit and I don't think that includes the mandatory pilot. I would much rather pay than attempt the horn.

Then we will hang in the Caribbean and work our way up the eastern seaboard when the mood strikes us.
