Hey & welcome to DnM. the layout of the site depends on the device you are using to access the site with. If you are using a desktop computer its a fairly logical layout. The buttons tend to be hidden in smaller devices like iPads and phones.
the main buttons (from a desktop) are at the top of the page labeled : Dashboard (after you login), Main, Members, My Matches, Photos, Videos, Forum, Groups, Polls, Search (maybe not in that order). I can't stress enough that if you are using a mobile device, these main buttons are likely hidden behind another button or something (menu).
all of the above logically relate to what you would think they do. Search is likely where you would go to see if you are compatible with someone. Enter in your criteria on the search page, click search and the results display. After you visit someone's profile you think you could get along with send them a private message.
You may want to run through the forums or polls and input your ideas into them. It gives others some insight into who you are when you do that (and adds points to your virtual bank here @ DnM).
