For those like me using FireFox, I always found it easier to start typing into the "address bar", "Location bar", "Super bar" ( whatever you want to call it) to bring up sites I often visit.

With the address change to the new site I had to type a lot ( and I am lazy by nature), so I found this article from Mozilla telling how to delete single entries from their "awesome bar" ( as they call it).  There are also ways to clear single site only data, and complete erasing of all history in this article.

Clearing a single item from the
Location bar history
  1. To clear a single item in the Location bar history, click the drop-down arrow in the Location bar. Remove Website Address Bar
  2. Press the down arrow key or move the mouse, to highlight the entry to delete.
  3. To clear the highlighted item, hold down the Shift key and press Delete on your keyboard.
