do you have a picture of it, with you riding it, Sally? we like pictures around here.

I have a small mountain bike ( with shocks on the front and back) that I use for short trips around town that I'm not going to be carrying real heavy packages back home.

I've never used it in the mountains it was designed for

I don't have a mobile device to even know if it can be done on one. If you have the "camera" looking button above the text box, push it and it will ask you for a filename/location to insert it.

if that isn't possible, I can post the photos in your post for you. If that is OK with you.

Your bike looks a lot like mine, except I have a 3rd shock in the back under the seat for the back wheel. Nice to see someone else is using a "mountain bike" in the city

Thanks for posting the pic, Sally. I'm curious why is laid on its side? No kickstand maybe??

I use one that mounts on the rail for the rear wheel, like this :

Wind, I know what you are saying about "Stadtpanzer" (City Tanks). There are several of them around here too. what bugs me is when I see a single person getting out of one in a parking lot.

I mean, its not like I think they should be outlawed or anything. But if you are going to drive something like that have a reason for it. 3 or more people using it.... park in the area of the parking lot for full sized vehicles ( not the compact spaces where they use 2 spots to park one vehicle).

Your sister doesn't like to go very fast on her bike, does she??   I use all of the gears on my bike, mainly because I'm old and don't want to work hard anymore ( if I don't have too, that is). Plus I have an uphill ride to get to the store closest to me, and a downhill ride to get back home. And 2 traffic signals in between. Cops here will give a ticket to a bicycle as fast as they will to a vehicle, sometimes faster ( they know a bicycle won't try to outrun them). And the rules of riding a bike on the city streets are just stupid.

Just because where you live Q there is enough snow to hold almost anything vertical without a stand.... doesn't mean the rest of the world knows how to or wants to follow the lead of the others

My stand and kick stands remains the same LOL... Next people will be putting banana seats and sissy bars under Mountain bike . You must make a stand to stop this insanity

I could go for that, Q. It ought to be getting around the time for you to have enough snow that will support your bike without a kickstand of any type...

I do a spinning class 5 days a week. The area I’m in is very friendly to road bikes and has dedicated bike lanes everywhere. South Texas is bike friendly Long Live Lance Armstrong!!! I just like indoor biking with all due respect to my brothers and sisters on the road

For wind090- seriously- is the legal limit in Germany 1.2 for drunk driving (or bicycling)?? Here in Texas the legal limit is only .08. Most of the UNited States adopted the .08 blood / breath level. And... no speed limits. Hmm. Wunderbbbarrrrr

FYI for BrownsvilleJD- Wind is no longer a part of this community. So don't hold your breath waiting for an answer from him

chances are good though that there are other German members here that can speak /read English ( at least through a translator) that would be happy to answer your question. All you need to do is seek them out.
