This girls name is Ekaterina Ross (That's the last name on her google + profile) from beloyarsky, Russia.  We met on match.com and she wasn't a member so I got her email and we started corresponding that way.  I traced her ip in the email header to see if she was legit but it is her server Ip she is connecting to so there is no way to know for sure.  It is from russia.  I am getting mixed signals from her, where somethings are normal and she answers my questions thoroughly, but she says some things that are kind of red flags on the things to look for in scammers.  The town she says she is from is really small, I verified this but she says she has to go to the library to write me.  I'll spare the long drawn out details and just show you her latest letter to me, any advice would help and I can post more if needed.

My darling John I write you in each line again that I remember, I
think, I trust you. We have never seen each other. We met in the
Internet. Do you remember how we have acquainted? I will never forget
that evening when I wrote you my first letter. That evening has
changed all my life. It was a simple dialogue which has outgrown in
fine feeling. A light spark was lighted in my heart and it burnt more
strongly with each new day. Did you believe that it can occur to us?
Did you trust in serious relations through the Internet? My far and
close John I have never seen you in reality but I am thinking of you
more and more. My darling, how did you get into my heart? How did you
change my life? Today I could not fall asleep for a long time. I
thought of you, about us. I looked at stars and represented you, your
gentle smile, your lovely sight. The moon shined at the windows of the
nearest houses. I represented us together in this reflexion. Even if I
am not with you today but... John did you think of the future? Tell
me about it. Tell me about your thoughts and desires. It is important
for me. John I will necessarily transfer your warm hello to my mum!
Yes, at us spring and in the street it is warm and fine. Yes, I will
sometime do to you massage and I am assured that you very much will
like my massage. John to me your desire to speak on the phone with me
is perfectly clear. I wish to tell that I would not have at present
phone what to call to you. As soon as I can find a way to call to you
I necessarily it will make. Well? I will necessarily inform you my
full name. Thanks for that that you have informed me the full name. It
is very pleasant to me to receive your photo. You look very nice.
My mum came to me this morning . She told me that I look like she when
she met with my daddy and when they fall in love with each other. She
trusts in our feelings sincerely. My mum sends you warm wishes and she
trusts in our future. I wait for your letter and I choke with
happiness. When I read your letters you are mine at this time! Only
mine! Even if its only my thoughts. I think of you my darling. I
miss...

Ugh... a typical scammers script!!

Did you check full email headers and her IP address?

Generally, we don't provide help with scammers here on Datingnmore, this is just a dating site, but our other site, Romancescam, is fully dedicated to it. Please register on Romancescam.com and post her in "Am I being scammed" section over there, the staff of Romancescam will help you.
But I know it is a scam 100%.

You're kidding, right?

Who writes like that?  It's so sickly sweet it raises questions instantly.  I would have deleted it just as instantly.  Don't waste your time even waiting for the obvious $ request.

I can't speak for Spokeo, as I've never used it. But I can tell you Google is your friend https://giyf.com/

search the email address, image search, and often the text that comes in those letters. Especially where there is bad grammar or spelling mistakes. Be sure to use quotes "search string" around what ever it is you are searching for in text, other wise it treats all spaces  as "anything on the page". with the quotes you are telling the search engine to find these words (numbers, punctuation), in this exact order. So it winds up with a lot less hits to look at...... and when you find your new "I want to meet you" letter in a group call yahoo romance scammers, its a real good guess you have a scammer sending those letters.

The fact is, no 2 people on earth write alike, so if you get some hits using unique wording ( such as bad grammar / bad spelling) in  sentence, it is a scammer, no doubt.

I'm sure https://romancescam.com has a lot more useful information about it, and the staff over there has many years of fighting scammers. So I'd suggest you create an account on their forum, and join in some of the discussions there when you have a question about " is this a scammer"....

Again, RS ( Romancescam.com) is the place to check to see if you really have a Russian scammer, or a Nigerian Student in Russia acting like a woman to scam people.

about Spokeo.

Spokeo gives 2 types of matches: exact match and possible match. These 2 are different and it is IMPORTANT.

How does exact match work? it search for this very same email address: handle + provider. Exact match means it is the same person.

How does possible match work? It searches for email handle ONLY. Means it could be a different person.

For example, a user's email is favour4love@yahoo.com. Exact match gives everybody registered with EMAIL favour4love@yahoo.com = same person 100%. Possible match gives all users registered with USERNAME favour4love. Could be the same, could be not.

Of course, if a user has a very unique handle, for example ugfht3458baby@yahoo.com, chances are, both exact and possible match will point to a correct person. Who else would want such a username? But if a handle is very common (for example janesmith@yahoo.com) possible matches will point you to every single person online with a username janesmith, and there is a LOT of those!!

Bottom line: if Spokeo shows EXACT match / OR if it shows POSSIBLE match, but the handle is VERY UNIQUE / AND it shows a different person (different picture, different location) than it is 100% a scammer. Otherwise , it can be false positive. You could be looking at wrong person.

Generally, a rule of thumb: you should disregard possible matches and only consider exact matches.

"She" totally seems like a scammer to me.  She can't talk on the phone, can't access the internet and is totally in love with a man she has never met.  And using the word "trust" so much is typical grooming, before asking for money

Hey guys sorry to go off topic but I needed some help as well. I've been talking to a girl for the past couple weeks. Her name is mary cart.shes really nice. Her email address checked out through spokeo as an exact match with her picture so I know it's her. She's ready to come down and see me and pay for her own flight ticket. She has her own business. But the company she works for won't pay her comission money of $3000 unless she pays a 500 dollar tax. Shes asking me to pay the 500. Does she sound legit to you guys

anyone you have met on the internet, but never in real life and is asking for money is a scammer, period.

ask yourself this..... if it was me and I needed $500, would I ask some stranger on the internet, or a reliable source such as a bank, close friend or relative??

and what guarantee will you have to be repaid?? There is no such thing as an "international loan" or even an "international promissory note". So how can you collect if the debt goes bad??

Here is the bottom line, if you have $500 burning a hole in your pocket and absolutely must throw it away, give it to this scammer. He is most likely not a Russian girl, anyhow. More likely he is a Russian man paying a female to play the part in this play, or there is no female at all.

Have you ever video chatted with this "girl"?  if so, asked her to do something out of the ordinary such as write your name on a piece of paper while on camera with her??

there is no doubt you are dealing with a scammer.

Quote from Jas Her email address checked out through spokeo as an exact match with her picture so I know it's her.
You really don't know a thing until you have seen it with your own eyes. I hate to remind you of that fact, but it does not change.

Why don't you post a couple of the first emails  from "her" (removing your personal information first) including her email address and let us do some searching on  "her" ??  Post "her" picture as well, OK?

the only thing spokeo tells you is that she is registered on other sites with the same picture. Doesn't mean she is real.

This is a 100% scam. No need to even check her on spokeo.
