I see no difference in (say) an Indian marrying a German or a Catholic marrying a Jew. If those two individuals are content then that's all that matters and is no-one else's business. It's up to each of us to create our own happiness and when we are then others should be happy for us.
I think the only thing to look for is to compare a persons outlook on life and how they treat others. If that is comparable with your own views then go for it, not much else matters.
Just my opinion.
I'm glad you posted here, Louise. I must have missed this topic when it came out.
if people would open their minds up to view us as a "Human Race", that sure would solve a lot of petty problems as far as I am concerned. In reality that point of view won't happen until ET's visit from another planet and I doubt that will be anytime soon.
I understand culture, and other things that make certain people what they are, and I am not trying to say it all needs to be forgotten about.
I also understand Religion can play a large role in trying to find a partner especially for those wanting children. Many religions say "you can only marry another one like us" ( or something similar).
