Sandy, I been there. The first step in preventing yourself from believing and falling for scammers or choosing the wrong guy is to find peace with yourself first. You have to learn to love you, for you. Enjoy being single for a while girl. Nothing wrong with that. Once you see you can live without a man you start to enjoy that freedom. Then watch and see what happens....you'll self-confidence starts to show instead of your vulnerabilites and that's what keeps the bad ones away and brings out the good ones.
I know I had to learn the hard way and now I am living life with a smile on my face and loving every minute. Take care Sandy!

I seem to always get the wrong guy, lets see first one i married, 18 yrs, just to find out he never loved me, he cheated with the neighbor, she told me, then the other one i dated for 3 yrs and he beat me just about every day i was with him. I am glad to be rid of both of them.

I am sorry to hear of your misfortune with Mr Wrong. But from one woman to another, take heart not all is lost. You are going to kiss a lot of frogs and maybe even toads before you find your prince!!!
So, take heart and remember!Falling in love is the most beautiful of life’s mysteries and you cannot live a dream if you are willing to dream in the first place.
Last but not least, for me, love is eternal and forever, even if it never returned, for true love requires no reciprocation. It is given selflessly and without expectations. So, don't hesitate to love fully and openly for as long as you love with all of your heart, you are always true to yourself there is absolutely no shame in doing so, because the alternative is not to feel at all. Regret is harder to live with.....
